October Favourites 2013!!!

Hey everyone!!!

I'm a little late this month, but I'm back with my October favourites!!!
I'm really excited to be sharing these products with you guys!

So let's just jump right into it because I can't wait!

So here's an overview of everything. :3 I think two might have been featured in a previous post, but that's fine.

So this really doesn't have any order, at all!
But this has definitely been my favourite cover up for the month. I've already ordered another one since I'm starting to run out.
But I already did a full review on it here if you want to read that.
But I really like this because it covers up everything and is just super fantastic basically. It makes me a little pale, but I like being pale so that's fine.

Next up we have my favourite eyeliner! It was actually a tie between this and another, but I used this one more, especially towards the end of the month.
I got this in my Ipsy bag a while back, and actually really enjoy the brand in general!

I just did a review on this last week, but it's the ELF Smudge Brush. I've really been loving this to put a little bit of eyeshadow on my lower lash line for a pop of colour.

This is my favourite eyeshadow, and I don't know why I've never mentioned it before! I've been using it since the summer, but just lately started becoming even more obsessed with it.
And it's the Revlon Vital Radiance Mousse Eyeshadow! :3 I actually don't know the colour of it because it was on the packaging and I threw it out months ago.
But it's just a mousse eyeshadow and looks really natural for when I want something light and effortless. And it doesn't crease on me a ton either, which I like!

Next up we have this ELF Blush and Bronzer Duo compact thingy majiggy.
The colour name, again, isn't on the back, but that's fine.
I bought it from my work for $3 and at first, I really hated it. But then I used it recently and the blush was just really pretty and not too dark.
And the bronzer part is also really nice! It's the only bronzer I've used that actually blends with my skin nicely!

This! Oh my gosh, I had been searching for this for months! But I finally got it at the beginning of the month, and it's a love hate relationship with this.
I love this because it's been helping with my acne scars, but it's really flakey and annoying to use with a lot of my foundations.
But I plan on reviewing this soon so watch out for that. :3

This is actually my only non makeup product haha!
But it's the Garnier Fructis Instant Repair Mask. :3 I bought this from my work at the beginning of the month, and after one use, I was hooked. I've actually been using this as my conditioner the past two weeks too.
It just makes me hair really soft and feels amazing!!!

My second last product is my Skin79 Highlighter! I don't know the exact name for it, but I looked at a bunch of korean makeup on eBay and this came up. The pretty colours attracted me!
I'm really iffy with highlighters because my skin is really oily and I don't want to overdo it, but I use this with my bronzer and blush duo, and it's just really pretty.
And pastel!!

Last, but definitely not least, is my ELF Little Black Beauty Book: Night Edition!
I saw this at my work for $5, and knew I had to get it.
I have the huge 100 colour eyeshadow palette from ELF, but it's hard to travel with because it doesn't fit in my makeup case, and I don't wanna crack the colours. But this works perfect!
And it has some really nice colours in there.
I've been using this with the smudge brush I mentioned, and been putting the glittery purple and blue colours on my lash line a lot, then using the matte black colour over my eyeliner so it doesn't smudge.

Overall, it's a great find and I love it so much!

These are all the things I've been loving lately, and if you guys have a monthly favourites post or video, definitely send me a link! :3

ELF Smudge Brush Review!!!

Hey everyone!!!

So today I'm going to be reviewing the ELF Smudge Brush!
I ordered this online exactly a year ago and I'm finally getting around to reviewing it. :3
And by the way, I paid only $1 for it off the ELF website.

When I first got this, I was kind of weirded out. I didn't know what the heck it was for!
And plus it just looked like a normal brush that someone cut up. So I basically ignored it for the longest time.

I mean come on. It looks weird, does it not?
And plus when I wash it, it gets really weird and I have to dry it a special way.

This is a better, up close picture of it though.
For a little while, I was just using it to put black eyeshadow over my liquid liner so it wouldn't smudge or anything.
But then I decided I wanted to try something different for my makeup, and didn't have any brushes to do what I wanted.
Except this one.

I like using it to dip into a bright colour of eyeshadow, and smudging it along my lower lash line to make my eyes pop. :3
It actually looks really nice, and this brush is perfect for it! The hair on it isn't too long or too short, it's just right.

Long story short, I love this brush. It's been moved from my other brushes I hardly use to my daily brush collection.
I definitely recommend it too, especially since it's only $1.

Overall; I rate this brush an 8/10.
The washing part of this brush is really annoying, but the payoff is definitely worth it!!

ELF Total Face Brush Review!!!

Hey everyone!!!

I'm going to be reviewing the ELF Total Face Brush today, and I have to admit right now that I'm in love with this, so much, that I own two of them!!

I ordered one of these online and I bought the other at my local dollar store. These brushes were I believe $1-$1.50 each, which isn't bad at all. This is the cheapest I've ever paid for a makeup brush!

When you purchase one of these, from anywhere, they come with the plastic cover that the right one has on it. I kept them so they don't lose their shape when I'm travelling. I hate when my brushes are all bent and weird looking.

When I first got one, I had the genius idea to use it with a liquid foundation.
Never do that!
I thought because it was a 'total face brush' I could. Um, wrong. It's not for liquid foundations. I think I'm the only one that would do that.
So I washed it after, getting rid of all the makeup just chilling on it. Thank goodness.

I've heard of people using these for their powders, blushes and bronzers. But I already have brushes specifically for blushes and bronzers, so I only use these for powders.
The reason I have two is because I have four powders. Two are white/pastel and two are skin tone, so I didn't like the idea of mixing them. I easily could and it wouldn't make a difference, but I wanted to be difficult.

They work amazing for powdering my face. It's easy enough to just swirl this in my powder then all over my face. I love these brushes, and actually want more, even though I have no use for more.
Yet.
;)

I found they did shed on me the first few uses, but after I washed them, the shedding mainly stopped. I occasionally get the random stray hair, but it's nothing major.
I try to wash them every two to three weeks to help prevent the shedding, and just to keep them clean.

It's really gross because after three weeks, they don't really look that bad, but when I wash them, after just one I have to change the water because it's already disgusting looking.
Eww.

I found that the first few uses, brand new and after washing are the best as these are extremely soft on my skin.
After about a week of using them everyday, they aren't as soft. Don't get me wrong, they're still extremely nice on the face, and it doesn't feel like you're putting powder on with a sword, but they're not as soft as they used to be.
But again, after you wash them, good as new!!

I just wash them with baby shampoo right after I use them so they have 24 hours to fully dry. These ones are bigger than the rest of my makeup brushes, so they do take a little longer to dry.

Overall; I would rate the ELF Total Face Brush a 9/10.
The only flaw being the very rare shedding and the not so soft after a week feeling, but that's easily solved by washing them.
This might actually be a good thing because that's what reminds me that I need to wash my makeup brushes. :c

ELF Lash & Brow Clear Mascara Review!!!

Hey everyone!!!

Today I'm going to be reviewing a product I've been using for the past two months, which, as you probably guessed from the title, is the ELF Essential Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara!
I first saw this product when my friend used it and showed me how to use it. I was really intrigued, and after almost a year, I sucked it up and bought it, for $1.
That's right, this beauty is only $1, and that's from the actual website too!! :3
I actually received it back in November, but didn't actually use it until about May.

This is what the actual product looks like. It's about the size of an eyeliner pencil, so it's easy to travel with. Both sides look the same, but the little silver ends tell you which end is which.
I haven't tried the mascara side, but as I'm sure you can tell, I've used the eyebrow side. It's really gross and dirty from my foundation, so I need to pick up a new one soon, or use the other side.

When you unscrew it, this is what it looks like. Just a simple brush. :3 The other side looks exactly the same, so I didn't feel the need for a picture.
But anyways, moving on!!

This is usually the second last step in my makeup routine, hence the colour of the gel. And since I'm applying moisturizer, foundation, concealer, powders, etc. my eyebrows end up all over the place. I'm not even kidding when I say that, and when I try using a normal eyebrow brush, for some reason they always just go straight, without an arch.

But this gel keeps them in place, all day long! For the first few hours, your eyebrows are actually kinda hard from the gel, but after that, they're totally fine.
And it's really easy to remove with either a face wash or just a makeup removing wipe.

Everyone I talk to tells me they use clear mascaras, which usually cost about $5 minimum, which is kind of ridiculous, when you could easily save the four dollars, and get a two in one product!

After a few weeks of constant use though, I found the product on the lip of the product would dry up, which isn't a big deal. It occasionally would get on the brush, and then onto my eyebrow, leaving a tiny white clump. But it's more than easy enough to remove with another sweep of the brush. :3

Overall, I would rate this product a 10/10.
I can't find anything wrong with the product at all, other than the white clumps, but if I clean it, it'll be fine!

ELF Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer Review!!!

Hey everyone!!!

So if you recall, a while ago I did an ELF haul, where I had purchased their Studio Face Primer. It was probably one of the items I was most excited to use, as I hadn't tried any type of primer prior.

So this is what it looks like. Ignore the stuff in the back. :p
I actually really liked the packaging. It was simple and easy to use. I'm currently using a primer that's in a pot and it's annoying cause most of the product gets under my nails. :c

It's actually pretty sleek looking for the cost ($6)
The pump sometimes stuck though, which was annoying cause it would end up shooting the product halfway across my room.
I also got mine in Radiant Glow, cause at the time they were sold out of the others.

Yeah, it looks like that. After a month of using it, it started being really nasty.
At first, I really liked it cause it was just like a thick liquid foundation, but then it became this golden glittery turd that was extremely hard to blend in.
Usually it would glide over my skin no problem and leave a bit of glitter, which I didn't mind.
But now whenever I attempt to use it, the first place I put my fingers to apply it are extremely glittery and gold, and it refuses to blend or do anything, which is really annoying.
It also falls off your skin if you don't blend it instantly.

I applied it over all of my hand, and I'm not even kidding when I say it took a good TWO minutes to blend the tiniest bit onto my hand. It's really annoying when I'm in a hurry and it takes that long!

One of the most annoying things though is that I have about 1/5 of the thing left, and can't even use it proper. :c I mean yeah, I only paid $6, but still, I paid for the damned thing, I wanna use it!

Overall, I would rate it a 6/10.
If you're able to use it all before it does the weird clumpy turd thing, props to you. But if you don't think you'll be able to, I wouldn't recommend this. There are much better primers out there that actually last.
I might be repurchasing this but in another colour, just to try. Maybe mine was just older than I thought?

I hope this review was helpful :3

ELF Makeup Haul!

Hey lovelies!!

Recently I bought some stuff on the ELF website cause they had an amazing deal going where if you spent $20.13, you got $15 worth of products for free!!
I actually got the products last week, but I've been so busy, so I was never able to do a haul or anything. :c

I'm not going to be going into detail about the products I got, but when I review them all, I will post more pictures, swatches, colour names, etc.

So without further delay, let's get started!

Here's a pile of everything I got. It's obviously a lot :c
(keep in mind everything from ELF is very cheap and affordable)

One of the first things I got was the Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara, which I saw my friend use once and I wanted to try out. :3

I've been using my finger to apply my eyeshadow a lot, so I figured I would get some brushes. :3

I actually got two of the Plumping Lip Glazes. :3

(i'm really excited to try this one)

(this was probably the most expensive one, being $6)

(got two of them as well)

(this one is the Fuchsia Fanatic which I'm wearing now. :3)

(i don't remember ordering this one lol)

That's everything I got!
I'm going to slowly be trying the products out on my days off, so expect reviews when I do!! :3

If you want to see a video where I give the colour names, here it is!
